17 hour agoMali: Reports indicate that Azawad rebels launched coordinated and simultaneous attacks on military bases in several cities this morning, Saturday. There are also reports that Azawad forces have taken full control of Kidal, where they raised the flag of the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad (MNLA), shot down a military helicopter, and seized the Wabaria camp in Gao.

2 week agoKidal: The Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) announced the death of at least two soldiers of the Malian armed forces and their Russian auxiliaries, as well as four wounded, following an attack targeting two armored vehicles with improvised explosive devices southwest of Tessalit, in the Kidal region, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
2 week agoMali: Four Chinese nationals were kidnapped four days ago in the village of Narena, in the Kangaba district of the Koulikoro region. According to several local and security sources, the operation was carried out by members of JNIM, which is active in the area. This incident illustrates once again the persistent insecurity and this group's capacity to carry out targeted attacks, including against foreigners in the region.

ISIS also captured 122mm D-30 (2A18) howitzer, Pakistan-made M44A2 mortar bombs, Poland-made FB Beryl M762 rifle, France-made Thomson-Brandt Mle. 61 bombs, #China-made Norinco LG4 grenade launcher, machine guns, mortars, RPGs, PG-7V Anti-Tank rockets etc...
Benin, 10 km from the Burkina Faso border, saw JNIM attack a forward operating base of the army in Pendjari National Park two days ago. A Beninese army M113 troop transport is visible in the image. This attack is the second in a week following ISIS's claims of a truce.
